Benderson Development, headquartered in University Park, Fla., recently teamed with Kimil Construction on a lining project at Hopkins Square Plaza in Williamsville, N.Y. The project lined 100’ of 4” main sewer line under the building slab at Hopkins Square Plaza. The cast iron main sewer line had deteriorated with age compromising the bottom of the pipe. This resulted in frequent sewer backups for several tenants in the plaza. The lining was performed, and five tenant laterals were reinstated using the IMS robotic cutter. The IMS cutter allowed reinstatements to be performed with minimal impact to the tenant and tenant space. Not only did they save money by not replacing the entire sewer line, the work was completed quickly making all involved extremely happy with the project.
